Guía · Qué es un ERP · Chultún

An ERP means no longer having the business scattered across files.

ERP sounds like a consultant's word, and what it names is simple: one system where the sale deducts from the warehouse, the purchase replaces it, the invoice comes out of the order and the accounting builds itself from all of that. It is not a better program: it is those four stopping being four.

Sound familiar?

It happens in almost every business.

To find out what you sold this month you have to piece together three files.

The warehouse says one thing and the system says another.

Every area has its own spreadsheet and none of them agree.

What you get

What gets done.

What an ERP brings together

Sales, purchasing, stock, invoicing and accounting in the same database. A figure is entered once.

How it differs from a CRM

A CRM looks after what is not yet a sale. An ERP handles what already is. They complement each other, and in Odoo they are the same system.

When you actually need one

When the same figure is typed twice, when stock drifts with no explanation, or when closing the month depends on somebody finishing data entry.

When you do not yet

If you sell little and only one product, an ERP is a burden. The signal is not size: it is how often things get re-entered.

What gets phased

Almost never does it all come at once. First sales and stock, then purchasing, then accounting.

How we work with you

Three steps, no surprises.

  1. 01

    Count the re-entries

How many times the same sale gets typed in from quote to invoice.

  2. 02

    See where it drifts

Stock, customer balances, or what was delivered. That is where the real cost is.

  3. 03

    Start with what hurts most

Not with what sounds best. The order is set by the pain, not by the module catalog.

How many different programs did your last sale touch? That is the measure of whether you need an ERP.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before we start.

Are an ERP and a CRM the same?

No. The CRM is the before-the-sale part; the ERP, the after. In Odoo they live together, which is what avoids double entry.

Do I have to change everything at once?

No, and it is a bad idea. You go in phases, starting with the area where most re-entry happens.

Does it work for a services business?

Yes: projects, hours, expenses and invoicing. You simply do not use stock.

What about what I have in Excel?

It gets migrated. Products, customers, balances and history are loaded from your files and cross-checked before the switch.
